Some Favorite Photos from Month One

Colin loves his swing; it was one of the first places he would fall asleep and stay asleep without parental intervention. Thank you again Cousin Hailey!!! We were on our way to our first Dr.'s visit. I don't know why we look so happy; we thought Colin was about to get circumcized (luckily it got postponed a couple of days).
The oscilating chair became our "must have" very quickly. It was the only way he would sleep more than a couple hours; therefore, he was put in it every night. Thank you soooo much Melissa & Lacey; you really have no idea how much it helped us!
Bilbo learned some new acrobatics; he had to do something to keep his daddy's attention on him.

We love to take our daily walks. Helps take off the pregnancy pounds we both put on.

Colin has the sweetest dreams; he smiles (and sometimes laughs) every night in his sleep.

We setup a changing station on top of the dryer; it soon became Colin's favorite place.

We had no problem taking the advice: when your newborn sleeps, you should sleep too.

WE LOVE HIM!

Home Sweet Home (Week 2 & 3)

First time in the car was very nerve racking. I had no idea there were so many bad drivers on the road; I swear those 2.5 and hours felt much longer on the way home than on the way there dealing with contractions every 3-5 min.

When we got home the power had been out for over a day; therefore, the heat also had been out (and it was only a few days after the snow had melted). It was so cold that I put Colin in his snow suite for his first couple of hours home.

Nonni & Grandpa Matt were very happy to finally have Colin right next door.

We only had two PJs that Colin's legs would stay in when we first got home; this was our favorite one. Thank you Cousin Hailey!

With such a long, skinny body it was very hard to find PJs that would fit those first couple of weeks. When Grandma Stone came up to help us out for a whole week she also brought several PJs that were a perfect fit and saved us (not to mention how cute Colin looked in them).

Daddy loves supplement time; thanks again Grandma Stone for another cute set of PJs (which I adoringly refer to as his 'Team Zissou' uniform.

Kate lovingly calls her little boy "monkey man".
Especially when she burps him, because he makes the cutest monkey faces.

Yes, I'm burping him (not choking)... all spectators get a big laugh, but I swear it works much better than the shoulder and Colin likes it.

We get a kick out of how Colin always places his hands while sleeping.

Almost like he's dreaming of being a rap artist.

Daddy became very good at multi-tasking; he can even surf the web while taking care of Colin.
Kate isn't as good at the juggling act, but Colin is patiently teaching her.

Colin's Hospital Stay (Week One)

Baby Colin's Official First Photo

Official Colin Fan Club (& future spoilers)

(just a minute ago, Grandma Stone had her hands up in the air celebrating the news of not only a new grandson, but a red-headed one at that -- a Kate favorite moment thankfully captured on film by Grandpa Matt).

From the very beginning Colin loved just hanging out in his grandparents' arms.

& Jon loved hanging out with him (our little jaundiced boy)And he got very good at finding creative ways of staying comfortable in his hospital chair/bed

Didn't take too long to become Daddy's little boy.

Colin NEVER slept in his hospital bassinet (if he wasn't with daddy then it was with mommy).

After taking care of our house & dogs during the snow storm, Grandma & Grandpa Stone had to go home (we only let them leave with the promise of their return upon our hospital release).

YAY! Finally, both mother and son are released from the hospital (although it was a blessing in disguise having a whole week of 24 hr. expert support; kind of like a week long Parenting 101 Course that also provided babysitting anytime of the day or night for any length of time).

Yes, we dressed him up as a bear. What else would we take home to the woods? ;)

Now look at the expressions carefully... can you tell which of one of us is excited & ready and which one of us is scared & would rather postpone the big event?:

We weren't the only ones with adjusting to do; here's Nina & Bilbo's LAST time allowed upstairs or allowed on furniture.

The cats didn't quite get it either. They kept wondering why we were bringing in more and more comfortable beds for them.
